Seven AI engines, measured weekly

Somebody is being recommended. Find out who.

This is the context layer for AI visibility. We measure what seven engines say about your market, which sources they trust, and who they recommend instead of you. Open it as a console, or plug your agents straight into the same context.

Two questions on two engines, free, about sixty seconds. No signup and no card. You see who the engines name as soon as the answers come back.

We measured a real market here: mortgage broker. Each dot is a competitor AI names when buyers ask. The nearer the middle, the more often the engines name it. You can get yours in about a minute.

The whole instrument in one pass: who AI recommends instead of you, the reading layer in 3D, and your own agent working from the live measurement.

The log

How an engine actually picks who to recommend.

One buyer question, put to an engine, exactly as it played out.

Google AI Overviews · 9 August 2026
01 · the question

“refinance mortgage Robertson QLD”

02 · what it searched first
mortgage broker Robertson Brisbanehome loan broker Brisbane southrefinance mortgage Robertson QLDinvestment property loan broker Brisbane

Before answering, the engine runs its own web searches. We keep them, because that is where the decision is made.

03 · the answer
... Key Refinancing Details & Local Contacts To secure the best deal in the Brisbane southside area, consider speaking with local experts who know the Robertson market:Robertson Mortgage Broking Local independent brokers based nearby who can analyze your current financials and run a refinancing calculation. Zest Mortgage Solutions Services the Robertson area with access to over 60 lenders to negotiate better rates and cashbacks. Mortgage Choice in Sunnybank A local Mortgage Choice Robertson broker who can evaluate variable/fixed packages and debt consolidation options.

It named Robertson Mortgage Broking. Across all seven engines, Pcmortgages was named 1 of 7 times.

ChatGPT named them
Perplexity named someone else
Gemini named someone else
Claude named someone else
Grok named someone else
DeepSeek named someone else
Google AI Overviews named someone else

The same question, put to every engine we measure. 1 of 7 named Pcmortgages, which is the number a buyer never sees.

The reading layer

The internet, as AI reads it.

The seven engines read these sources before they recommend anyone. The sites at the centre show up in almost every market. Get your business onto them and your answers move more than any change on your own site.

The architecture

We are the layer underneath, not a button that asks ChatGPT.

A scanner asks a model a question and hands you a score. We keep the whole path instead, five layers joined on one business, 64 days deep and growing every night.

  1. The questionBuyer questions carrying real Google search demand, so a question is measured rather than imagined.
    14,953questions
  2. The answerWe ask all seven engines directly, several times each, and keep every reply word for word.
    20,474answers kept
  3. What it read firstThe searches an engine ran before it answered, and every source it cited. This is the layer nobody else publishes.
    247,23920,836 source domains
  4. The site, as a machine sees itOur own crawl: the rendered page, the schema, and a headless agent read of what an agent actually gets.
    1,411businesses crawled
  5. Whether it sent anyoneNew pages mentioning you, and the visitors the engines really sent, recorded by the site's own beacon.
    3,840mentions swept
WhereMeasured in 15 countries so far, and your own scan runs wherever you are. We ask each engine from your market, in your language, so a plumber in Leeds and one in Brisbane get their own answer. Because we hold all five, you can ask what the engines read across a whole category, not just about one domain. The scoring and evals are open at github.com/techhorizonlabs/thl-open.

what moved the site

the fix list, in order, in full
  1. Publish honest comparison pages for the rivals AI names against you, in our analysis of 1,001 high-intent searches, two-thirds of "you vs rival" results and five of six "alternatives" results are won by a page the brand didn't write, and those pages are what AI reads when a buyer asks it to choose. An honest head-to-head page (including who should pick them) takes that moment back.
  2. Get onto the platforms already feeding your category's AI answers: Reddit, cited 46× in the answers we measured, real answers in your category's subreddits, from a real profile; YouTube, cited 85× in the answers we measured, a channel with a few plain answer videos and community posts. Each of these is a source the engines draw on in your market right now, and you have no verified presence there yet.
  3. Add direct quotations, a line from a named expert, founder or customer. Pages with quotations are cited markedly more often by AI assistants (~+40% visibility in the GEO study, arXiv:2311.09735).
Worked example: fix one, start to finishwe do not do this for you

Fixing it for you would mean living inside your stack. Instead the scan writes the artefact and names the places it belongs, so you can paste it, or hand it to your own agent and say do this.

  1. Paste this into the <head> of your home page. It is the Organization JSON-LD this scan generated for paddockmap.com.au, with the sameAs links that tell every engine which profiles are really yours.

    }
  2. Publish this at /llms.txt. A plain-English summary an agent reads before it decides what you do.
    # PaddockMap

  3. Then go and get cited in these 3 places. Named from the answers in your own category, not a generic directory list.

Steps one and two are yours to paste in about ten minutes. Step three is the slow one, and it is the reason visibility moves weeks after readiness does.

Your data, in your AI

One line, and your own agent knows everything we measured.

There is no dashboard to learn. Point Claude, Cursor, or any agent at the connector and it reads the live measurement, then answers in your own words. This is a real exchange against our own numbers.

Getting started

Start with the free scan. It is a real measurement.

The free check is the same instrument, run shallower. We hold nothing back to make it disappointing, and you never enter a card before you decide to pay.

Every tier is the same instrument: the readiness audit, the verbatim answers, the fix list in order. Monitoring keeps it running weekly, tracks which competitors AI names instead of you and how often, scans the web every day for new pages that mention you, counts the AI visitors landing on your site, and gives your agent tools to read all of it.

We have measured 3,700+ businesses, and 28% of the public index is named by no engine at all. Sceptical? Read a full sample report first. · Are you found by AI, for agents →

Common questions

The short answers.

Is the scan really free?

Yes. No card, no signup, and your verdict with both scores shows in about sixty seconds. Fair use: up to five free scans per device per day.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes. The month-one human-reviewed report on Monitoring: at least five specific things you did not already know, or reply within seven days for a full refund. No forms, no hoops.

Is GST included?

Prices are in US dollars and exclude GST. Australian customers are charged 10% GST at checkout, so US$79/mo appears as US$86.90. Outside Australia you pay the listed price with no tax added.

Can I cancel Monitoring?

One click, from your console or any email, any time. No contracts, no exit forms. Your locked rate holds for as long as you are subscribed.

What is the AI-traffic beacon?

A one-line snippet you paste on your site that counts real visitors arriving from AI, with a live dashboard: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot and Gemini. No cookies, no personal data. Included with Monitoring.
