See if AI recommends your business — and why it does or doesn't
Found by AI is a free tool that checks whether ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google's AI recommend your business, and scores how ready your website is for AI to read, trust and cite it. Here's exactly how it works — a 90-second demo, then step by step.

How the free scan works
- Paste your website. It reads your homepage and works out what you do and who your customers are.
- It asks the four AI engines. ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google's AI get the questions your customers actually ask — and it checks Google's AI Overviews too.
- It scores 30+ signals into two numbers: AI Visibility (are you named right now?) and AI Readiness (is your site built to be found?), each out of 100.
- You get the fixes. The six signals AI checks before recommending you, your tech stack and agent-readiness, and the highest-impact things to fix first. Serve specific areas? Add your own locations for a local read.
What's in the full report
- 12 buyer questions across every engine — a stable map, not a two-question snapshot.
- A suburb-by-suburb visibility heat map — where AI names you across the areas you serve.
- The competitors AI recommends instead of you — and exactly why they win.
- A citation game plan — the specific directories, registers and communities to get listed and mentioned on.
- Copy-paste fixes — your Organization / LocalBusiness schema and llms.txt, generated and ready to publish.
- Real Core Web Vitals and agent-readiness with a target range to aim for.
What is GEO, and why does AI visibility matter?
GEO — generative engine optimization — is SEO for the AI era. Traditional SEO gets you ranked in a list of blue links; GEO gets you named inside the AI's answer. AI weighs different things: whether you're a recognised entity, your third-party mentions and reviews, and citations — far more than on-page keywords. Around 85% of the brand mentions in AI answers come from third-party pages, not your own site. Found by AI measures all of it, so you know exactly where you stand and what to fix. Your customers used to Google you. Now they just ask AI — "who's the best plumber, accountant, or café near me?" Is your business on that list?
I'm Huxley, and I built a free tool to find out whether AI actually recommends your business.
Here's how it works. You drop your website link in and hit Scan. It reads your site, works out who your ideal customers are, then queries each of the four major engines — ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google's AI — to see whether AI can find and recommend you. You get a readiness score out of 100. If you serve specific areas, you can add your own locations. And you'll see whether you're showing up in Google's AI Overviews.
You can see each of the four questions we asked, and the six things AI checks before it recommends you. You get a quick read on your foundation — the technology your site is built on — and how AI-agent-ready it is. Then the high-impact fixes, and a link to the full report if you want to go deeper. Drop your email and we'll send the full report straight to you.
I've put together a sample of the full report so you can see the depth we go into. You get a visibility map — twelve questions instead of two — a heat map of your visibility suburb by suburb, and your Google footprint. Then who AI recommends instead of you, with the actual answers the engines gave. From there, a competitor map: exactly how you rank against each business AI named ahead of you. You get your citations, and a game plan for improving them — the single biggest lever on your ranking.
You get an entity scorecard, which AI assistants can actually read your site, your foundation in more depth, and agent-readiness with a target range to aim for. You can drill into any metric to understand it and see where to improve.
There's also a bonus: a ready-to-publish llms.txt file and structured data you can drop straight in to give AI more to work with. And your prioritised fix plan — reply any time and we'll help you sequence the repairs.
I found this genuinely useful for myself and my clients, and I'm keen to see what you find. Just email me back once you've scanned.
